In addition to his legal practice, he has held numerous political positions in various organisations of the Slovenian minority in Carinthia and also at the municipal level. He has published extensively in the field of minority rights and legal comparison in the Austria/Slovenia relationship, and also engaged in extensive journalistic activity.

Mag. Rudi Vouk became known through numerous proceedings before the Austrian Constitutional Court. His efforts led to decisions of the Constitutional Court on the expansion of the area where it’s possible to use Slovenian as an official language, as well as the so-called “place name sign decisions.”
